Lightning was a healthy and well socialized house trained adult male. He carried a very generous coat, full dentition and pigment, a scissor bite, and stood 30" at the withers.
Lightning was our alpha male from a young age, the "big dog" of our family's pack. He was our eldest son's favorite, affectionate but always dignified.
His prey drive was his undoing. He caught and swallowed whole a lizard of some kind, and within hours he torsed and had to be put down. We weren't ready for him to go (although you're never really ready), and he remains sorely missed. Rest easy, buddy, good boy.
